I bought a box of Dixon Ticonderoga pencils earlier this week. The pencils needed a case. So I made one out of some boards from an oak desk I had trash picked a few weeks back. I liked it so much I made another one.
The second one I made out of boards from an old pine cabinet that my neighbor tore out of his house and gave to me.
I really enjoy making things out of salvaged wood. These pencil cases only cost me a few cents for the glue that holds them together. More than the cost it is nice to know that something deemed useless can find use elsewhere.
